What is responsible for lingering urine odor? - causes of malodorous urine

Even after the bath has been for several days not used, there is a persistent smell of urine. The chemicals are responsible? Why stay? It is not particularly foul-smelling urine with certain medical conditions caused, but the urine produced by healthy people are generally well moistened.

Even my roommate sometimes the bathroom to ferment the homemade wine or cider. Are these chemicals in the urine in the air affects these enzymes in any way, and whether positive or negative? Thank you.

  1. The smell is probably due to the production of ammonia in the urine and smoke in the process of fermentation of wine. Bathrooms tend to smell if it is not used for a few days anyway, because the smoke to escape, entering through the bottom pipe of the water in the toilet.
